♫ It's a small world ♫

Here is my piece for the upcoming Joey Chou's It's a small world show at Nucleus Gallery.

Prints available here

Thanks Joey!

Gallery Nucleus is having a Harry Potter show on July 9th and I was asked to contribute a piece to the show. For telling you the truth I've never been familiar with the tale but I always loved the books cover from Jean-claude Gotting and I have a lot of respect for J.K.Rowling who made a lot of kids and adults to read books once again!

Here is my contribution (ink on paper 27x14cm).

The bird

I'm just back from California where I spent delightful moments with friends.

I did during my travel in america this second piece for the Scissorhands 20th birthday at Nucleus gallery, the show was epic in all the sens. Being back again in Los Angeles was a real pleasure and curating this show a great honor.

I will post very soon pictures from the show and from my trip.

"Enchanté" at Nucleus gallery

Gallery Nucleus have the pleasure of bringing attention to Adolie Day, Marguerite Sauvage, Seb Mesnard (who's that guy?), Veronique Meignaude, Mcbess, Stephane Tartelin, Benjamin Lacombe, Rebecca Dautremer, Gerald Guerlais, Alexandre Day.
"Enchanté" is a common French greeting that also expresses delight and charm, and the works by these Illustrators, Designers, and Fine Artists, will surely invoke these same sentiments.

The Scarecrow

All winter through I bow my head
beneath the driving rain
the North Wind powders me with snow
and blows me black again
at midnight 'neath a maze of stars
I flame with glittering rime,
and stand above the stubble, stiff
as mail at morning-prime.
But when that child called Spring, and all
his host of children come,
scattering their buds and dew upon
these acres of my home,
some rapture in my rags awakes
I lift void eyes and scan
the sky for crows, those ravening foes,
of my strange master, Man.
I watch him striding lank behind
his clashing team, and know
soon will the wheat swish body high
where once lay a sterile snow
soon I shall gaze across a sea
of sun-begotten grain,
which my unflinching watch hath sealed
for harvest once again.

Lonesome Bones

As far as I can remenber I've always loved skeletons. I think it started with the Ray Harryhausen's skeletons scene in Jason and the argonauts, the Disney's "the skeletons dance", and the traditional image of the Death as in "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" from Terry Gilliam.
But my favorite skeletons and skulls are from JVC Vernon Courtland Johnson with the Ripper logo for Powell Peralta and all his fantastic work for them.

We love you so

In October 2009 The movie based on Maurice Sendak’s classic story Where The Wild Things Are will hit movie theaters worldwide. The film represents years of work from hundreds of different artists, writers, photographers, musicians, actors, and creators of all degrees. This place has been established to help shed some light on many of the small influences that have converged to make this massive project a reality.

Personal Spike Jonze site "We love you so" is a place to learn about things are great to share with you the things those things helped make. Wild Things indeed… And also probably a lot of other randoms things that catch our eye along the way and I'm so proud to have my Max featured in!
